Try Our Top Rated Organic Hair Spray 0

It’s strange how people can be fairly picky about eating healthy foods that are organic and aren’t processed or genetically modified, but when it comes to hair care products, cosmetics, or supplements, people use products they’re familiar with regardless of their ingredients. And it’s understandable – when you find a hair care product that works well with your hair type, then you don’t want to shop around for anything else! But there is a better solution!

Nature’s Brands Carries a Top Rated National Organic Hair Spray

Nature’s Brands strives to provide our customers with some of the best organic hair care products that not only are effective but are also:

  • USDA-Certified organic
  • Paraben-free, preservative-free
  • No petroleum-based ingredients
  • Cruelty-free, vegan, and vegetarian
  • Free from gluten, dairy, soy, no GMO
  • Copolymer-free
  • Free from PEG, ceteareth, and polyethylene
  • Free from phthalates, synthetic chemicals, or dyes
  • Free from Cocamidopropyl Betaine or Coco-Betain
  • Free of Hydroxypropyltrimonium and other chemicals
  • Free from: propyl, isopropyl, butyl, isobutyl, DMDM hydantoin
  • Oils are hexane free, cold-pressed, non-refined, non-deodorized

That’s a lot of ingredients with scary names, and they are often found in a variety of popular brands of hair spray. And there’s no need to worry about our hair spray not being able to hold your hairdo in place – feel free to dance the night away with any amazing hairstyle you can come up with.

Phthalates

Phthalates can disrupt the endocrine system and there has been evidence that exposure to these chemicals may increase the risk of breast cancer and reproductive birth defects. Dimethyl phthalate can be found in hair sprays and is often hidden as a fragrance.

Parabens

Parabens have also been shown to increase the risk of breast cancer and they can mimic estrogen. While some manufactures have made an effort to remove parabens from their products, a hair care product that is listed as “paraben-free” doesn’t mean it’s safe. You should also look out for ingredients that contain the suffix “ethyl,” “butyl,” “methyl,” and “propyl.”

Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate

Even though this isn’t in the live above, consumers should still be wary of products that contain this ingredient. These chemicals are what make shampoo foamy, and can lead to skin rashes, eye damage, as well as more serious issues like liver damage. Be on the lookout for SLS, SLES, sodium dodecyl sulfate, or sodium laurel sulfate.

In our organic hair care products, you’ll find ingredients that you can easily pronounce! Our organic hair spray includes:

  • Purified water
  • Organic vodka
  • Organic brown sugar
  • Organic sweet orange oil
  • Organic geranium oil
  • Organic green tea
  • Organic sage herb
  • Organic thyme herb
  • Organic bergamot oil
  • Organic olive oil
  • Organic rosehip oil

As our name suggests, Nature’s Brands strives to provide our customers with skin and hair care products, vitamins, and supplements that are natural! We love developing products that come straight from nature so that you can be sure you’re using something safe. Just like you don’t want to eat foods that have been genetically modified or grown using pesticides or herbicides, you want natural hair and beauty products that are natural and safe too. Give our organic hair spray a try, and we’re confident that you’ll never go back to your old products.

Five Benefits of Mouthwash

Five Benefits of Mouthwash 0

There’s nothing quite like the feeling of having a fresh and clean mouth, and there are plenty of products out there that can help make this happen. There’s toothpaste, of course, as well as floss, mints, gum, and mouthwash. And even though mouthwash isn’t widely used, it’s an incredibly effective product that keeps your mouth feeling fresh for hours, and unlike mints or gum, mouthwash is also very effective at killing germs! And killing germs in the middle of the flu season and an epidemic is something that everyone will be happy about.

If You’re Not a Regular Mouthwash User, Here Are Five Reasons to Try It!

Mouthwash Can Prevent Cavities

If you have a sweet tooth or like to drink your share of soda or juices, there is a risk that cavities will develop in your teeth. Cavities can develop even with regular brushing and flossing, so it’s always important to be mindful of what you eat, drink, and how you treat your teeth. But using mouthwash is another step you can take to prevent cavities from forming. Certain types of mouthwash contain fluoride, which can help strengthen tooth enamel and prevent the development of cavities.

It Keeps Your Breath Fresh

As we mentioned above, mouthwash is an amazing way to give your mouth that fresh, clean feeling. In fact, mouthwash may be more effective at keeping bad breath at bay for longer than brushing your teeth with toothpaste will. This is because mouthwash kills the bacteria in your mouth that can lead to bad breath. So after digging into a bag of salt and vinegar chips, rinse your mouth with mouthwash and you’ll be set for hours.

Helps Clear Up Canker Sores

There are several causes for canker sores, including food sensitivities, an allergic reaction, or a minor injury to the mouth. Whatever the cause, canker sores are irritating and can even be painful. Canker sores typically last from one to two weeks, but using mouthwash can reduce the amount of time for them to go away.

It Can Limit Plaque

A build-up of plaque is one of the biggest factors that can make a trip to the dentist worse than normal. Not only will your hygienist have to dig into your gums and scrape at your teeth, but they will also probably give you a small lecture about brushing and flossing. Brushing your teeth and flossing are the best ways to prevent plaque, but regularly using mouthwash is also effective at limiting the amount of plaque that grows. This makes keeping your teeth clean easier and your hygienist happy.

Mouthwash Kills Bacteria and Germs

Brushing and flossing are highly effective at removing small bits of food, getting rid of plaque, and keeping your breath fresh. But mouthwash goes a step further to remove food particles, plaque, and bacteria in harder-to-reach parts of the mouth.

There Are Two Types of Mouthwash: Therapeutic and Cosmetic

If you’re looking for a simple rinse to freshen up your breath, then you’ll want a basic cosmetic mouthwash that won’t contain active ingredients like fluoride or chloride. If you want a mouthwash that will kill bacteria, you want a therapeutic mouthwash that will contain active ingredients.

Common Active Ingredients in Therapeutic Mouthwash Include:

  • Cetylpyridinium chloride
  • Chlorhexidine
  • Essential oils
  • Fluoride
  • Peroxide

Biodegradable Packing Peanuts 0

At Nature’s Brands, we’re committed to pioneering organic wellness in all that we do, from our supplements to our cosmetics, and even in the way we package our products. In addition to utilizing violet glass for our products, we also use biodegradable packing peanuts in all boxes that we send out!

We’re proud of our biodegradable cornstarch packing peanuts because they are eco-friendly, and that’s what we’re all about. Organic and all-natural wellness products aren't just about taking the best possible care of ourselves, it’s about taking care of our environment as well.

Eco-Friendly

Our biodegradable packing peanuts are entirely non-toxic, making them safe for kids and pets in case your little helpers get into your box while you’re not looking! They are also “green” and environmentally friendly since they dissolve in water as well as in a compost setting.

Reduce or Reuse

We’ve all heard of the three Rs in “being green” — Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Obviously reducing and reusing helps to eliminate waste by not creating it in the first place; however, try a creative spin on reducing waste with our packing peanuts!

Since our packing peanuts are made of cornstarch, they dissolve in water. Entertain little kids by “magically” making the packing peanuts disappear with water!

Or, you can always reuse the peanuts when you need to pack and send something in the future!

With Nature’s Brands, You’re Helping Yourself and the Environment

When you shop with Nature’s Brands, you obviously care about yourself or whomever you’re buying organic wellness products for. Now you can have peace of mind that you’re caring for the environment as well. From creating a science experiment, or reusing our packing peanuts, or just adding them to your compost, there are plenty of ways to intentionally minimize waste.

But the great thing is that even if some packing peanuts end up getting blown away or something like that, you don’t have to worry! Since they’re 100% biodegradable, they won’t negatively impact the environment.

Benefits of Miron Violetglass Packaging 0

Nature’s Brands is proud to harness the positive benefits of Miron Violetglass packaging for our organic products. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing, violet glass has long been used as a material for preservative containers due to its unique properties.

As we all know, the sun is a necessary and beneficial part of all life as we know it. Much like oxygen and water, life on Earth depends on sunlight as well. However, there can always be too much of a good thing. For example, too much exposure to sunlight can result in sunburn or even skin cancer.

When it comes to supplements, cosmetics, other health/personal care products (or basically anything that is perishable), the sun can accelerate decay and decomposition. This is especially problematic with organic products that don’t contain artificial preservatives. But that’s where violet glass comes into play. Below we’ll take a look at the benefits of using Miron Violetglass for Nature’s Brands products.

Protection From Sunlight

If you recall from a high school or college science class, light waves appear on a spectrum with visible light taking up just a tiny portion. There are many forms of light that we can’t even perceive visibly such as ultraviolet (UV) light and infrared. Oftentimes, these nonvisible light waves are the more powerful and damaging ones.

If you were to take a standard glass bottle, for example, that glass would let in visible, UV, and infrared light. In direct sunlight, the combination of all these light waves accelerates the decay or decomposition of organic products.

Miron Violetglass filters out the most harmful visible light while allowing 25%-45% penetration of violet and UVA light frequencies as well as about 60% penetration of infrared light frequencies. This ratio seems to actually energize and help preserve the organic contents within the container. In addition, the small amount of visible light that does not get filtered out is what gives the violet glass its deep characteristic hue.

Naturally Preserves

All living tissue, human as well as plant, emits light which is referred to by the term “biophotons.” We get a great deal of sun-derived nutrients just be being outside and absorbing photons through our eyes and skin. However, another great source of these key photons come from sunlight enriched nutrition. Think natural products that soak up sunlight.

When the natural and organic nature of these products is maintained, their high biophotonic benefits are transferred when they are consumed or applied. In fact, biophotonic research suggests that the biophotonic output of a food, plant, or supplement is a better indicator of overall quality. Miron Violetglass helps naturally preserve biophotons of the contents within which mitigates the need for artificial preservatives that could actually detract from the biophotonic output.

Because violet glass acts as a barrier and prevents the loss of biophotons, multiple studies have shown that violet glass consistently preserves contents better and for longer periods of time than traditional or amber glass containers.

See the Benefits For Yourself!

At Nature’s Brands, we strive to only provide the highest quality organic and all-natural supplements, cosmetics, and other beauty and wellness products. In keeping with that goal, it’s only “natural” for us to use packaging such as Miron Violetglass for our products. What better way to package and preserve the best natural products than with a natural packaging that already goes above and beyond the more common glass and plastic packaging?

We’re proud to use Miron Violetglass to package and help keep our products naturally fresher and more vitalizing for you, and we invite you to experience the benefits for yourself. Visit our vast selection of organic and all-natural products at www.naturesbrands.com today!

Organic Supplements vs. Synthetic Supplements 0

So, physically or online, you’ve decided to browse a vitamin and supplement store. Now you’re overwhelmed with choices, and one of the most common questions to ask is, “Should I get organic supplements or synthetic supplements?”

That’s a great question to ask and shows a significant amount of awareness regarding your health. Taking any kind of supplement is a great step in complementing the vitamins and minerals your body absorbs through a balanced and nutritious diet. But, it’s worth doing due diligence when you’re looking into different supplements to use. Not all supplements are created equal or are held to a high-quality standard, which means you might think twice before putting them into your body.

Synthetic Supplements

Synthetic supplements, as the name suggests, are not derived from natural sources. Synthetic supplements are created in a lab environment. While synthetic supplements can closely mimic the structure of the natural vitamin or mineral, they can still contain chemicals that don’t occur in nature.

Furthermore, the FDA does not review dietary supplements for safety and effectiveness before they are marketed. That means there may be higher or lower amounts of the isolated vitamin or mineral in a synthetic supplement, so its effectiveness may vary. And, in some cases, having an excessive concentration of a vitamin or mineral can actually be harmful to the body.

Typically, synthetic supplements are cheaper and therefore more accessible. So they can be a source of vitamins and minerals that you may be missing from your diet as long as the manufacturer is, in fact, producing a quality supplement.

Organic Supplements

Organic supplements, by and large, incorporate all of the benefits of a synthetic supplement while mitigating the negatives. Organic supplements, while also not reviewed by the FDA, can opt to meet rigorous inspection standards from the USDA simply to earn the “organic” designation.

Organic supplements, especially those that have the USDA certified organic designation, do not have harmful chemicals such as pesticides or insecticides. Since organic supplements are derived from natural sources, they more closely mimic the vitamin or mineral that would be consumed in a whole food source.

While organic supplements may be more expensive than synthetic ones, it may be worth the cost to ensure that the supplements you are consuming are high-quality and do not contain chemicals that could do harm to your body.

Fortunately, all Nature’s Brands products are certified organic so you know they contain high-quality natural ingredients. Click here to check out Nature’s Brands’ full lineup of organic supplements!

How Natural is your Organic Facial Cleanser? 0

Did you know that many natural facial wash products contain SLS? SLS (also known as sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate and ammonium lauryl sulfate) are added to natural products to make the product foam.

A newer ingredient called Sodium Laureth Sulfoacetate (SLS) is accepted in the market as a safer alternative to Sodium Laureth or Lauryl sulfate. You may look for this ingredient in your organic face wash label. This detergent also helps the product foam and has shown to harm the aquatic life when washed in the streams. So why add it to our organic products?

Give Your Skin the Proper Care, Naturally

Use safer alternatives like an organic facial cleanser that is pure with no synthetic ingredients that are almost edible.

Control skin dryness with a moisturizing facial wash that naturally cleanses dry skin with plant derived ingredients that are nourishing to sensitive dry skin.

Perhaps you want to start your day feeling refreshed without having to wash your face and use a dry skin cleanser that is specially formulated for those who prefer not to use a facial wash but simply wipe the skin with a cotton ball to remove dirt.

If you have normal to oily skin and see that a product label contains oils, you tend to shy away from it. However, ask yourself are these plant derived oils? If so they are your friends. An oily skin facial wash that contains organic plant oils do not clog up your pores nor do they add more oils to your pores. It is good to have pure beneficial oils in a natural face cleanser to balance and tone normal to oily skin. Only a pure natural organic face wash should be considered worthy enough to be used on your skin.
